Discord User Lookup

Third-party tools can no longer show Discord profiles, but every Discord ID still tells when it was created. Paste one below to decode it.

Why there is no user search here: Discord no longer allows third-party tools to look up its users, so no website can legitimately search a username or show a profile. Here is what you can do instead.

Decode a Discord ID or message link

Paste an ID, a mention or a message link to see when the account, server, channel or message was created. It runs in your browser: nothing is sent to Discord.

Get a Discord ID in three steps

IDs are hidden by default. Here is how to copy one:

  1. Turn on Developer Mode

    User Settings › Advanced › Developer Mode. On mobile: Settings › App Settings › Advanced.

  2. Copy the ID

    Right-click (or long-press on mobile) a user, server, channel or message and choose Copy ID.

  3. Or copy a message link

    Copy Message Link works without Developer Mode. Paste it into the decoder to date the server, the channel and the message at once.

Find someone by username, inside Discord

Discord's own app is the only place that can still search users. Three ways that work:

  1. Add them by exact username

    Open Friends › Add Friend and type their username. If Discord can't find it, the name is wrong or they don't accept friend requests.

  2. Search a server you share

    In the server's search bar, type from: followed by the name, or start typing @ and the name in the message box: Discord suggests matching members.

  3. Open their profile

    Click their name or avatar on any message to see their profile. With Developer Mode on, Copy User ID gives you an ID you can decode here.

What does a Discord user ID lookup show?
When the ID was created, which for a user ID is when the account was made. The decoder works it out from the ID itself, in your browser, without asking Discord anything. Profiles, avatars and usernames are not available: Discord no longer allows third-party tools to look them up.
How do I find someone's Discord user ID?
Turn on Developer Mode (User Settings, then Advanced), then right-click their name or avatar and choose Copy User ID. On mobile, long-press their profile instead.
How do I see the profile behind a Discord ID?
Open discord.com/users/ followed by the ID while logged in to Discord: the app opens that user's profile if you are allowed to see it. The decoder offers this link after you paste an ID.
Can I decode a server, channel or message ID too?
Yes, every Discord ID works the same way. Paste a message link (right-click a message, then Copy Message Link) and the decoder dates the server, the channel and the message at once.
Can a Discord ID reveal someone's IP address or location?
No. An ID only encodes a timestamp and internal counters from Discord's servers. It carries no IP address, location, email or phone number, and sharing one does not give anyone access to an account.
